Pro gradun tarkoituksena on selvittää oululaisten ja raahelaisten kauppa-alusten miehistön nuorimpien jäsenten merille lähtöä ja urakehitystä ensimmäisen viiden vuoden aikana. Työn tavoitteena on selvittää, minkä ikäisiä olivat nuoret merimiehet, millaiset sosiaaliset lähtökohdat heillä oli, miksi he pestautuivat, millaista elämä oli laivalla ja miten heidän uransa kehittyi jatkossa. Tarkastelu kohdistuu viiden vuoden jaksolle vuosina 1858-1863 ja mahdollisuuksien mukaan joidenkin miesten uraa on seurattu pidemmälti. This article examines how community work and structural social work are conceived by early career social workers. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tarkastella äitien lapsiinsa kohdistamaa väkivaltaa ilmiönä. Tutkimusaineiston olen kerännyt haastattelemalla kahdessa eri kaupungissa työskenteleviä kuutta lastensuojelun sosiaalityöntekijää. Tutkielmastani valmistui ensin työn teoreettinen viitekehys, jonka jälkeen toteutin haastatteluaineiston keräämisen. This paper reports on a teaching experiment in which social work students (n=38) practiced problem solving through argumentative tasks. A teaching experiment was carried out at a Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences in Finland in connection with a course concerning preventative work against alcohol- and drug abuse. This quasiexperimental study investigated whether role-play simulation conducted either online (15 students) or face-to-face (14 students) improved students’ problem solving on social issues.
